A Wee Little Coupon Brag

I take great pleasure in matching up a sale with a coupon, especially if this results in the price being free. There is however an even greater pleasure from the highly elusive matching of a sale with a coupon which results in the item not only being free, but that you make money off of purchasing said item. Extreme couponers are masters at acquiring free items AND making money off the purchase, let’s call it “Make Money” match up. I myself have only done so twice. I made $0.65 after purchasing four toilet seat covers earlier this year. I ended up with I think 28 covers in total so I made a whopping $5.20. I am small apples but it makes me happy.

Hallowe’en day I achieved this “Make Money” match up. Resolve Spray and Washissued $2 off coupons at the end of August this year. During the month of September, No Frills, Zehrs, the Superstore and Walmart all had this product on for $2. That means it was free with the coupon! Great deal! The only problem was every time there was a sale, the stores were always sold out and Walmart was also sold out as they price match. Bah! So frustrating! The shelf clearers in our region broke the sacred code of take but leave some for others. This week No Frills had the Spray and Washon for $1.88! Score! I still had my coupon and my Mom’s coupon! I got up early Hallowe’en morning and headed to Walmart to do my grocery shopping and low and behold there were still Resolves on the shelf!!! I grabbed my two bottles, price matched and used my coupons!!! I made $0.12 a bottle!!!! I know it’s only $0.24 but it’s the principle of the matter!!! I not only got it for free but I also received money for doing so!!!
You’re jealous, I know.
